Food is Medicine.

Earth is our greatest resource. It gives us our sustenance: our means to survive, dwell, and create. Of Earth's most appreciated resources, is food. We want it, we need it, we can't live without it. Food has taken on a new persona in the past ten years. We've dressed it up, pumped chemicals and foreign genes into it, and produced it using more raging hormones than you'd find at a high school prom. What all of the mad-scientist-agribusiness types don't realize is that they are mutating Earth's greatest natural present to us: our unadultered food supply.

Let me reel you back in here: Food is medicine; Body is temple. Hippocrates, one of man's greatest philosophers stated, "Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food". He was on to something there. Millenia later, we need to start paying attention to the man's message. Herbs, spices and plantlife are full of medicinal properties- and knowledge of their applications dates back thousands of years.

Time for a short lesson on FWB: Food With Benefits.
(I'll be using "FWB" in future posts)

Herbs, spices, fruits, vegetables and oils can have medicinal benefits such as: anti-depressant, anti-inflammatory, anti-aging, and anti-carcinogenic effects. Our natural resources can promote heart health, growth and development, respiratory and GI health. Unlike the overly processed foods circulating our food markets today, fresh fruits, vegetables and herbs can help promote our health instead of diminish it.

This blog will inform you about the foods on our planet, their benefits and their possibilities.

Here's a peak at some super-foods I'll be referring to frequently. Super Foods
